Executive Roles Description + Elections Info

President

They serve as the CEO of the Club and preside over all general Club meetings. They delegate any club responsibilities to members. They represent the MecE Club to the Engineering Students’ Society (ESS) Board of Directors, the Undergraduate Student-Staff Committee and other Faculty committees as well as the Mechanical Engineering Department.

VP Social

They are responsible for organizing new and regular MecE club events and getting them approved. Some events hosted by VP Social are: Student-Prof Social, and Industry Mixers like the CSME mixer.


VP Finance

They receive and disperse all funds allocated to and raised by the Club while
maintaining proper bookkeeping accounts. Also, they create and present the upcoming fiscal year’s budget at the Annual General Meeting in September.

VP Internal

They assume the President’s role if the President is unable to continue their duties. They oversee the office representatives, the foosball representative and merchandise Coordinator. They continually work to improve relations current Mechanical Engineering students and alumni. They will create an office-hours schedule for all VP’s, representatives and coordinators.

VP External

They oversee the VP Social, Sports Representatives, Sponsorship Representative and Student Year Representatives. They continually work with external companies to garner sponsorships and external funds for the club. They ensure that social events for the club are run, a minimum of one per semester.

VP Academic

They act as a resource to address any academic issues between students and faculty. Furthermore, they obtain and distribute course notes, as well as inform members of scholarships, bursaries, and employment opportunities that may be available to them.

VP Technical

They overview any and all technical aspects related to the Club such as sending out the weekly MooseMail, making updates to the club website, addressing any concerns with the Club’s technological assets like the printer and computers. Furthermore, they help arrange and host technical seminars from industry to the MecE community like the Pressure Vessel Seminar.

Election Info:

Requirements: If you are interested in running for any Vice-President (VP) Position (Internal, External, Academic, Social x2, Technical or Finance), you must be a member in good standing (which means you had to attend at least three MecE club meetings before you submit your nomination form).
If you are interested in running for President, you must have been an executive member (a VP) of the club for at least a year.
